How scoring works

One question per chart, one visible rule to settle it, and chips to show how sure you are.

2.1The daily challenge

  • A new challenge opens at 00:00 IST and closes at 23:59 IST. Each one has a number (DreamChartz #128).
  • Everyone in India gets the same 5 charts in the same order.
  • You can play once. There is no timer. You can close the app and continue later the same day.

2.2What you see on each chart

  • 60 candles of real Indian market data. The stock name is hidden.
  • Now: the last visible price, marked with a dot and a vertical dashed line. This is the starting price.
  • The Sideways band: a soft grey band across the chart, with its top and bottom prices labelled in ₹.
  • The window: shown in plain time, never in candles. For example "Where will the price be 10 days from now?" or "...50 minutes from now?". We choose the window per chart (10 to 40 candles of that chart's timeframe). The user never chooses it.

2.3The call

Pick one:

CallMeansYou are right if the price at the end of the window is...
UpIt will go upAbove the grey band
DownIt will go downBelow the grey band
SidewaysIt won't move muchInside the grey band (touching an edge counts as inside)

Only the closing price at the end of the window matters. What happens in between does not count.

    2.4Chips

    • You get 10 chips every day for the 5 charts.
    • On each chart you put 1 to 4 chips on your call. The default is 2.
    • You spend chips as you go. All 10 chips are always used by the end of chart 5.
    • Lowest allowed = max(1, chips left − 4 × charts after this one). Highest allowed = min(4, chips left − charts after this one).
    • On chart 5 the amount is fixed to whatever is left.

    More chips = more sure. 1 = "Not sure", 2 = "Normal", 3 = "Sure", 4 = "Very sure".

    2.5Scoring

    • Right call: you win the chips you put on it.
    • Wrong call: you lose those chips (they are not won).
    • Score = chips won, out of 10. The lowest score is 0, the highest is 10. There are no negative scores and no bonus formulas.

    Worked example, DreamChartz #128:

    ChartWindowCallChipsActualChips won

    2.6Leaderboard, percentile and streak

    • Daily leaderboard: ranked by chips won. Equal scores share a rank ("Rank 18, shared with 312 players").
    • Percentile: "Better than 82% of players today". It is labelled "so far" until the day closes, because more people are still playing.
    • Weekly and all-time leaderboards: total chips won.
    • Streak: the number of days in a row you have completed the challenge, whatever your score. Missing a day resets it to 0.

    2.7Fairness and integrity

    • Calls lock the moment you tap Next. There is no going back.
    • Progress is saved on our server after every locked call, not on the phone.
    • The stock name and dates stay hidden until the day closes. They appear in your history the next morning, so names can't be shared to spoil the answers.
    • Prices are rescaled by a hidden factor and the time axis shows relative time ("60 days ago" to "Now"), so a chart can't be looked up while playing.
    • Same charts, same rules for everyone.
